Many of our local nonprofits are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, from having to cancel or suspend fundraising events, to ramping up capacity to serve on the frontlines, to dealing with an overall decline in revenue from regular income sources such as sales of tickets, goods, and fees for services.
Several philanthropic organizations in Northern New Mexico have partnered to deploy philanthropic dollars to those nonprofits who have been impacted by COVID-19. Two Nonprofit Emergency Response Funds have been created. The “Los Alamos Fund” is intended for nonprofits located within Los Alamos County and primarily serving clients in Los Alamos County. “The Greatest Need Fund” is intended for nonprofits located in either Los Alamos or Rio Arriba Counties, serving clients in those areas, including surrounding Pueblos.
Local nonprofits holding a current IRS 501 (c)3 federal tax exemption who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 are invited to apply. Grants will range from $500 - $1,500. All funding will be unrestricted. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis. We will respond to funding requests as soon as possible. Requests not immediately funded will continue to be considered as additional funding becomes available.
